The Bobby McGee's

A band often described as twee, championing the twee-as-fuck ukulele brandishing . Beneath their harlequin painted faces and a sugar coated exterior lies a dark edge that is a beautifully touching and intelligent balance between overly sweet and barbed witticisms . They will fool any listener into thinking this is the feyest bunch they've ever heard, before offering a barrage of ukulele-backed repeated cries of "kill yourself" and offers to "slash yer throat and gouge out yer eyes". The band was formed after the discovery of Jimmy's Grandfather's ukulele in the attic and a small handwritten book of his grandfathers poetry combined with Eleanor's song lyrics influenced by words written on toilet walls. Domestic violence with Ukuleles, a deep Scottish brogue and Eleanor's gentle lilt gave birth to a rather wonderfully quirky band not to be missed, The Bobby McGee's.

The Diamond Family Archive

Laurence Collyer, The Diamond Family Archive , was the songwriter for Brighton-based band Chimp receiving praise and airplay from the likes of John Peel, Steve Lamaq and XFM. Laurence found himself recording a collection of songs in a greenhouse on the very remote west coast of Ireland which formed the basis of The Diamond Family Archive. His songs are personal, sometimes painful tales of love lost and life's laments.

"... Laurence Collyer's Diamond Family Archive is a unique, revolving ensemble, centring around his ghostly, deeply emotive song writing. Imagine Mark Kozelek's haunting folk with elements of Robert Wyatt's heart wrenching vocals combined with Collyer's beautiful song.... this is truly great."

Jane Bartholomew's voice shimmers a gentle tranquil peace like a dam letting out a steady trickle of water. When you listen to her songs you can just sit happily on the lake in your boat and dream off into her gentle voice, intermingling with the plucking of guitar strings, piano, violin, glockenspiel and cello the music melts around you creating the atmosphere of innocent country summer mornings.
