Last Stop China Town - first stop for rock fans!
So there I was wandering around the FUSE event checking out the Warfighters malarkey when I bumped into Alon. A bit of a chat later and I learned that he fronts a band, he learned that I do Safeconcerts. A CD was swiftly produced and I went away promising a review on the website.
I have to say that it was with some trepidation that I put the CD on as I suffered the pains of a daily workout, after all these chance meetings don't usually produce much and to be honest after a night of metal I was expecting more of the same old same old - was I in for a shock or what - I nearly fell off me treadmill (again!) - this is not just metal - this is MUSIC.
Vital Signs, the CD that these hugely talented guys have produced is awesome, this is not an average band - this is Last Stop China Town - real talent on a stick with knobs on, this band is set for the big time. This isn't just metal, this is metal with an edge for a new generation of rock fans. Last Stop China Town are hungry for that rock and roll dream - and it shows in their music and approach.
They certainly like to take a chance with their sound and won't stick to what is safe as 'Soldiers Of Fortune' testifies - how do they pull it off? 'coz they can! 'coz this is what these guys do and 'coz this is not a band stuck up their own arses which is all to common these days - Last Stop China Town are real in every sense of the word. Searching for more information about these guys I was completely astounded to learn that they have only been together as a band for a year, they have already been support for Breed 77 and toured with Bullet For My Valentine, now they're set to support Skindred on the Jingle Bells tour - as if all that were not enough in the first year as an embryo band they have also released their first album Vital Signs. Last Stop China Town certainly won't be supporting anyone for much longer, they are so set for big things.
The thing about this band is that they work together as a team. Whilst Alon is a hugely talented and charismatic front for the band the music works because they all bring a unique contribution that blends together to produce a passionate and theatrical performance that transcends individual egos to give the kind of performance that only real stars achieve.
Vital Signs is a great debut album, there simply isn't a duff track on it and it pulls you in from the first chord on the first track. it doesn't let go from start to finish - it's rock with passion, theatrics, superb riffs, catchy choruses and well written lyrics with a knack of pressing all the right buttons.
Aside from being musically gifted the guys have a great image and outlook which will ensure a wide appeal, for sure they have a rapidly expanding fan base. Don't take my word for it if you haven't heard Last Stop China Town - listen for yourself check out the videos below and see for yourself:
Mark my word - this band is going to be big so go see them while you still can.
