Safeconcerts have teamed up with Standon Calling to offer one lucky member the chance to win a pair of tickets to Standon Calling 2012.

Standon Calling is one of those delightful events that began life as a small party for a few friends. The event started to grow by word-of-mouth,  and a delightful party soon became a fully fledged festival.

Standon Calling has remained true to its routes and its home-grown ethos and has a strong commitment to championing new artists. This means that you get a chance to discover bands before most people have heard of them.

Standon Calling manage to put together varied and eclectic line-ups and when the live music finishes the party gets really serious - the event has a 6am licence! DJs and performers take over the infamous nightclub in the cowshed. Last year Standon Calling put on a complementary rave in a horse box too! In addition you'll find secret areas that open up after the midnight hour…

A different theme takes over the event each year which is reflected in the interactive theatre, art installations, set designs, and outrageous outfits on display - this year the theme is all about adventure and the spirit of discovery: Journey to the Ends of the Earth..celebrating their fifth year constructing carefully controlled chaos at Standon Calling this year sees the Heritage Arts Company teaming up with artist-cum-director-cum designer Amy Lord to create a unique themed Treasure Hunt at the festival…probably the most bizarre, interactive treasure hunt you’ll ever encounter.

With a line up that already includes !!!, Crazy P, Willy Mason, Trojan Sound System, The Nextmen feat MC Wrec, Greg Wilson, Colleen Cosmo Murphy, Turbowolf, The Skints, BIGKids, Revere, Beans on Toast, Belakiss, Golden Fable, The Fabulous Penetrators, Beardyman, Death in Vegas, Fat Freddy's Drop, The Time and Space Machine, Field Music, Casiokids, Gabby Young & Other Animals, King Charles, Dub Pistols, Stealing Sheep, Jenny O, Vadoinmessico and  The Yearners the event is already looking mighty fine - and there's much more to be announced yet!
