Live Nation have announced that John Probyn has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, UK Music. Probyn, previously UK Festival Director, will continue to oversee Hard Rock Calling and O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park as well as Download at Donington, and in his broader role will also take responsibility for UK promotions, marketing, public relations, hospitality and productions to ensure complete coordination and maximisation of opportunities across these areas.
Since 2001, Probyn has been in charge of all elements of live production, touring logistics and major festival and events planning for Live Nation in the UK. In his capacity as Festival Director, he has been the driving force on major events, such as the multiple award winning Download Festival, O2 Wireless and Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park. Probyn has overseen major global events, such as the record breaking Live8 concert and Live Earth at Wembley Stadium.
More recently, Probyn was instrumental in securing another three year agreement with Royal Parks to continue to stage large scale live events in Hyde Park.
Paul Latham, President, UK Music and Venues at Live Nation said: “John’s past achievements speak for itself and I look forward to working with him on strengthening our portfolio. John is an integral part of our organisation and I congratulate him on his appointment.”
John Probyn added: “I am delighted with my new appointment and look forward to the challenges ahead.”
