Useful resources for Crowd Safety

This page is aimed at providing on line resources for students who need access to research papers, booklists and guidance to further their studies in crowd safety matters, including a report into Donnington 1988 and Roskilde in 2000

This page is aimed at providing on line resources for students who need access to research papers, booklists and guidance to further their studies in crowd safety matters. The impetus for this came from Mick Upton who has frequent requests for information from students and we thought that a general resources page within the safeconcerts site could provide an additional dimension by having a practical area where industry papers could be accessed and further avenues of study highlighted. We hope you will find it useful and helpful but please bear with us as obviously it will take time to develop. To start things off we have an initial booklist and a paper written by Mick Upton that provides an insiders perspective on the 1988 Donnington disaster.

Booklist

The Arad Disaster

Incident at Donnington Monsters of Rock 1988

Risk Assessment - The Benefit of Hindsight

Roskilde - The Police Report

Front of Stage Barrier Systems - presented to Easingwood College by Mick Upton

The Health and Safety Executive have commissioned a couple of reports into crowd safety, they are on line and can be found here:

www.hse.gov.uk/research - This report was written by RM Consultants for the HSE in 1998

www.hse.gov.uk/research - This report was written by S YZAu, M C Ryan; M S Carey and S P Whalley for the HSE in 1993 - "MANAGING CROWD SAFETY IN PUBLIC VENUES: A STUDY TO GENERATE GUIDANCE FOR VENUE OWNERS AND ENFORCING AUTHORITY INSPECTORS"
