Macmillan’s Brick Lane Takeover
17th June 2010

Macmillan Cancer Support will once again take over Brick Lane in East London on Thursday 17 June when the second run of its new music event - Macmillan's Brick Lane Takeover - will welcome 2000 music enthusiasts from 5.30pm through to the early hours.

Following on from the success of last year's debut event Macmillan's Brick Lane Takeover returns for a second year of exceptional live music and DJ sets across seven of East London's best venues - 93 Feet East, Vibe Bar, Café 1001, The Brickhouse, Rough Trade, Spitalfields Market andCargo.

XFM is supporting the Brick Lane Takeover and John Kennedy, described as "oracle of the hotly-tipped, the seer of the next big thing", will be curating.

"I noticed the Brick Lane Takeover last year as it had an impressive line up, so I'm definitely going to try and get down there.  I just think it's great that Macmillan is doing something like the BLT - not only to make money, but to raise awareness of their incredible work amongst a younger audience.  It's all good."
BBC 6 Music's George Lamb

Macmillan Cancer Support is a source of support for people living with cancer, as well as their families, friends and carers it provides practical, emotional and financial support.
