New To Q Sessions
26-30th January 2010

New To Q Sessions, which will take place from 26th to 30th January 2010 at The Tabernacle, New To Q Sessions is an exciting way to showcase new music to Q readers while also supporting up and coming talent.

Kicking the shows off will be Manchurian newcomers Delphic on Tuesday, 26th January supported by The Cheek. Delphic, whose debut album is slated for release early next year, have spent most of 2009 touring and perfecting their live shows.

Wednesday, 27th January sees a double-header with I Blame Coco and Swedish super-producers Miike Snow topping the bill, and support coming from the fast-rising Alex Gardner.

Miike Snow released their debut single, Animal, on 10th August. Their eponymously titled debut album arrives this month to great acclaim.

The hotly tipped I Blame Coco are fronted by Coco Sumner, daughter of Sting and Trudie Styler. They are currently recording their eagerly awaited debut album and will exclusively preview material from it at this New To Q Sessions show.

Texan psych-rockers Midlake will cross the Atlantic to perform on Thursday, 28th January. The band's new album, The Courage Of Others, is due for release in February 2010 and this will be first chance to hear material from it. Support comes from The Kissaway Trail.

London electro duo The Big Pink have made waves both here and internationally throughout this year, having released four singles and a debut album, A Brief History Of Love, which appeared in September. They play the Tabernacle on Friday, 29th January with support coming from The Vivian Girls.

Daisy Dares You will be bringing the shows to a close on Saturday, 30th January with support from Lima Bailey. Essex born and bred, Daisy Dares You (nee Daisy Coburn) is one-girl alt-pop machine and MySpace sensation. The 16-year-old will release her debut single later this year and is widely predicted to take the world by storm.

Q’s Editor-In-Chief Paul Rees says: “One of our mantras at Q has been that music is as good as it’s ever been – we believe the here and now is an exciting, fertile time for new music. As such, we’re delighted to put our money where our mouths are and host these five shows which are dedicated some of the best new artists we’ve heard.”
