BASS Festival (British Arts and Street Sounds) is the UK’s only month-long celebration of Black Music and Art, and it returns this June for a celebration of urban music and culture.  BASS 2013 theme is a journey of the influence of Soul on music, Birmingham, and black Britain.

BASS Festival takes place throughout June at venues across Birmingham, including Custard Factory, mac, Library Theatre, The Public, The Edge, The Drum, The Rainbow and Hare and Hounds.

BASS Festival is produced by Birmingham-based Punch Records, in association with a number of music partners and artists. The festival will work with mainstream and grassroots organisations to deliver a range of new commissions, live performances, art exhibitions, dance and theatre performances, film screenings, and master classes.
