Derby Folk Festival returns for 2014. As the Assembly Rooms cannot be used this year following a fire organisers will be putting a marquee onto the Market Place – right outside the Assembly Rooms – and this will be the venue for all of the concerts that were in the Great Hall. Events that were in the Darwin will now take place in the Guildhall Theatre and the Old Bell Hotel on Sadlergate. The foyer folk club events will happen in the Guildhall Clubrooms, and more space in the Old Bell will be used for sessions and workshops. The free fringe music and craft fair will still be on the Market Place as last year.
The event brings a mix of concerts, ceilidhs, workshops, sessions, kids entertainment, dance displays, craft fairs and a real ale bar.
