This will be the final Gig in the Park - organisers have issued the following statement:

It is with great sadness that the Gig in the Park committee wish to announce that this year’s Gig in the Park will be the last in its current form. Having run since 2001 in the Halesworth Town Park,  it has been enjoyed and supported by most in the community. However it is becoming harder to make the event cover its costs and for volunteers to give their time.

The recession and steadily rising cost of things has meant that just keeping it at the level we have built it up to is not possible anymore. We support the police in now having to charge for their services but that, and PRS taking a big slice each year are making it a juggling act. We have also seen the bill for the fuel we use in the generators, rocket to the point that it is now bigger than the cost of the hire and transport of the machines themselves! The committee do not want to simply put up the ticket price to cover this and therefore make it unaffordable to some within the community. Nor do they want to lower the high standard of this professionally run and well respected event.We are all exceedingly proud of the gig in the park and as volunteer organisers, our aim has always been to give Halesworth an annual event that is accessible to and enjoyed by all ages.  As a not for profit organisation, the Gig in the Park  has still always managed to annually donate to town causes as well as being able to provide  professional training in some areas of events management and technical production. It has actively been involved in other town events such as The thoroughfare, The Christmas lights and the Lions Carnival. All of this has been possible because of those who have come back each year to the gig , to either buy tickets or to work voluntarily on this amazing event. We value and appreciate the support you have shown.

The Gig in the Park Committee

Gig In The Park is a community run event which takes place in Halesworth, Suffolk. There are two stages, the Main Stage, and the smaller Jungle Stage. The festival showcases local talent in music, dance, and comedy.

You will also find craft and food stalls, children's entertainers, and real ales on sale in the beer tent.

Gig in the Park is a not for profit event.
