The UK's most famous festival is easily recognised by its iconic pyramid stage and is well loved by the thousands of festival goers who opt to return year after year to experience a little touch of magic in the Somerset countryside.

Glastonbury festival is quite special, it's the festival that many have aspired to and many have tried to emulate, after all these years no-one has ever quite managed to capture that certain indefinable ingredient that makes Glastonbury quite so magical and most certainly when it comes to festivals - utterly unbeatable.

Glastonbury is set in over 1,000 acres of beautiful Somerset countryside - mystical land that's steeped in history and symbolism, it is the largest Greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world. Within that there are many different festivals happening all at once, catering for just about every musical genre you could hope for.

Glastonbury is not only  a truly inspirational festival on many different levels, it's absolutely huge and once you're there you find yourself in a completely different world that has several different towns and cities within it.

There's the main commercial centre with loads of outreach towns and communities surrounding it, there's the ever busy bustling and hip metropolis which houses the infamous Pyramid Stage, a little hop, skip and a jump away and you'll find yourself at The Other Stage and The Dance Stages, always bursting with raw energy and awash with revelers - this area of the festival is a heaving mass of excitement and anticipation and it's always alive and kicking.

If you fancy something a tad more on the chilled out side, take a stroll over to the Jazzworld and Acoustic areas and you'll soon find yourself in a totally different town on the outskirts of the city! Oodles to do, lots to see and experience but quite different from the bustling city scene - take your time here, relax and explore a bit.

Got the family with you or just want to be a kid for a while? try zipping on down to the family oriented areas to experience something different, the Kidz Field will keep the youngsters amused and happy for hours while the Theatre and Circus fields are great for the whole family to share.

For a more alternative experience try the Field of Avalon, the Tipi Field, and the Green Fields - so much going on but yet again a completely different festival experience on offer.

Feeling spiritual? right at the top of the site is the Sacred Space - this is really special and embraces celebration and ceremony, celebrate life and joy with many other festival revellers here - the Stone Circle is a glorious sight to behold, especially at dawn and dusk!

Glastonbury - one of life's truly exceptional experiences...check out just why you can never get to see everything on offer at Glastonbury here

Ticket Info

Michael Eavis has brought in ever stricter measures year on year in a successful battle to stamp out ticket touts, this is a festival for the fans and stringent methods have been put in place to attain this ideal. Tickets are only available from See Tickets and you will need to register before you can buy.

Glastonbury Festival 2013 tickets go on sale - at 9am BST on Sunday, October 7th - tickets will cost £205 (+ £5 booking fee per ticket & £6 P&P per order). Entrance for children aged 12 and under remains free.

The ticket price covers entry to the Festival site from Wednesday 26th June until Monday 1st July 2013 and, as ever, includes a free programme. Once again, the Festival will be raising funds for Oxfam, Wateraid, Greenpeace and a host of local charities and causes (in 2011, more than £2m was raised).

Deposit Scheme

You will be able to book a ticket by paying a £50 deposit per person, either online at http://glastonbury.seetickets.com
, from 0844 412 4635 or, for international callers, from +44 1159 934 183. Up to 8 tickets can be bought at once, but there is only one ticket per registration (so if you're planning to book for a group, please make sure that everyone is registered).

As a guide for international buyers, £50 is approximately â≠¬63 or $80 (as of Thur 6 Sept). And click http://bit.ly/glastotixtime to find out what time 9am BST on October 7th is where you are.

Registration

Registration remains free of charge. If you're not already registered, then head over to the registration page here  to fill in your details and upload your picture (it only takes a few minutes).

You can also check your existing registration now here and edit the details here  Please do all this in advance of September 30th (when registration will close until after October 7th).

Balance Payments

The booking site will then re-open on April 2nd 2013 for UK ticket buyers (February 25th for international buyers), you will have a week to pay your balance and to book everything else you might need (tipis, campervan tickets, car parking, coach and train travel, cancellation protection etc).

It will not be possible to pay for a ticket in full in October, when only deposits will be taken. This will allow people more time to save for their tickets, knowing that they have secured a booking. It will also help the Festival to reduce costs, allowing them to give more to the joint charities.
