The John Peel Stage

The New Tent first appeared at Glastonbury in 1998. Of course everyone said there was no need for another stage, but Michael Eavis did what he always does and went ahead and did it anyway. It's been a very significant stage at Glastonbury ever since bringing the best from both new and established acts alike.

Emerging artists are given the chance to showcase their talent here and it's played host to many who have gone on to bigger things, the stage also has established artists playing alongside the new talent - so it's an eclectic mix of vibrant and exciting musical delights to tempt you.

It was a favourite haunt of John Peel who totally got it, so when he left us suddenly and far too early in October 2004 it was re named in his honour - we think he'd be chuffed to bits!
