The very first Green Man Festival occurred in 2003 taking place at Craig Y Nos Castle in the Brecon Beacons on the 25th August. It was a small one day festival that as well as providing some great music also featured various artists, short films, literature alongside kids making cardboard instruments.
Since then it's gone from strength to strength, you'll find art installations, literature and film tents, Welsh poetry, art and music, ceilidhs, poetry, theatre, science, comedy, Nature and Nurture massage area, a daily dusk till dawn bonfire, impromptu jamming sessions, and food stalls offering a wide range of mouth watering cuisine most of which is locally sourced and organic.
The local cider is served from an array of quirky bars dotted around the site with the only 24-hour drinks license at a UK festival, serving everything from real ale, wine, hot toddies to cocktails.
