All about Leeds Festival
Leeds Festival started life in 1999 - there was a need for festival-goers in the north to be able to have access to the same kind of festival fun enjoyed by fans in the South who had long been rocking at the legendary Reading Festival.
Both festivals were run by Mean Fiddler under the auspices of Carling Weekend with the line-ups rotating between the two sites during this three day festival.
You'll always find a great line up and there is always plenty of entertainment on offer at Leeds - you'll find it packed to the rafters with some of the biggest names out there, Leeds showcases those breaking acts, and brings you a host of fantastic and exclusive performances from the music world which will include all genres and many surprises.
It's not really what would be termed a family friendly festival, this one's pure rock and roll - fun and frenetic - music with mayhem and much. much more - if you love your rock and roll you'll love Leeds festival - it's one of the giants and deserves to be there.
