The Magic Loungeabout is brand new for 2008 and is to be held at Newburgh Priory, Coxwold, York, North Yorkshire, YO61 4AS - this is a one day event taking place on the 30th August.
Billed as 'a new and refined way to experience live music' this one is going to be rather different and quite a luxurious experience with fresh produce from the farmers market for you to choose from and if you'd prefer there will be luxury picnic hampers and champagne available.
There will be a full programme of live music and there will also be a cocktail hour - and to top it all off in style DJ's will play until 3am.You'll even be able to have round of golf on the most sophisticated simulator around or a massage in the spa therapy area.
For those of you with children the Magic Loungeabout organisers will provide two creches on Saturday running from 1.00pm - 9.00pm. The first creche will cater for the 2-5 year old age group. The second area will cater for the 6-9 year old age group. All areas will be fully equipped with structured activities including magician's and face painting. All staff will be fully qualified and conform to Ofsted regulations.

Tickets have now gone on sale for the UK’s first 24-hour musical picnic with an exclusive line up of international live acts announced including Gary Numan, Morcheeba, The Egg and Pacific – Sweden’s answer to Air.
The Magic Loungeabout has teamed up with the Secret Garden Party to help produce the event which will take place in the stunning surroundings of Newburgh Priory in Yorkshire on Saturday 30th August. Their award winning creativity will ensure the right blend of decadence and fun are brought to the event.
The Magic Loungeabout promises to avoid the traditional hassles associated with festivals to create an intimate and contemporary way to enjoy live music and is being hailed as a musical mix of ‘folktronica by day and electronica by night.’
Guests will be able to picnic in the landscaped gardens of Newburgh Priory whilst enjoying unspoilt views across the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and cocktail hour will be held at twilight where guests can have a drink to ease themselves into the evening.
An aftershow party with cocktails will be held under the stars in the ruined West Wing of the Priory, featuring DJ sets until 3am. Overnight camping in the gardens of Newburgh Priory will be available at no extra cost with a boutique camping experience available in the Yurt Village, in a nomadic environmentally tent (Yurt) decorated with woollen rugs for those looking for a touch of luxury.
Food and drinks on site will be provided by a carefully chosen selection of local and organic producers and the event will include an on-site farmer’s market alongside champagne and cocktail tents. Alternatively you can pre-order a picnic hamper to pick up on the day. The festival will be family-friendly with professional crèche facilities and milk and cookies served to children at twilight.

The idea is that most of our daytime acts will have derived their influences from our main headliner which creates a kind of musical narrative. In our first year our headline act is Gary Numan, which is perfect. And don’t worry about the toilets, we’ll have plenty of them and they’ll be clean!”

In order to keep the crowds to a minimum, a limited number of tickets have been made available for The Magic Loungeabout. Bookings can be made online through www.themagicloungeabout.co.uk, and aims to reduce the booking charges which have become standard with festival booking lines.

Camping:
This is a one day event but organisers have arranged camping facilities for those wishing to stay over - take your own tent for FREE camping
This being a luxury event there will be Premium Yurt Camping available - you can purchase a unique camping experience in the Yurt village which will be set in an enclosed area surrounded by woods and streams just behind the main picnic area.Prices are £193.50 inc vat and are sold only in pairs (this price includes your entry tickets)
Parking:
You will be able to park near the camping facilties for FREE.
