All about Rhythm Festival
Held at the most unusual and atmospheric festival venue in the UK, the Rhythm Festival is now in its third year, and is fast becoming known as one of Europe's most prestigious music events. In 2007 the Rhythm Festival was nominated for FIVE national music festival awards!
Organisers are promising something a 'little different' and for starters have said they have a self imposed capacity limit of 5,000 - so it claims to be smaller, friendlier, more intimate and with a customer focus firmly on the agenda. That's a new concept worthy of more exploration. In case the weather is temperamental the organisers are having plenty of indoor areas and entertainment, plus masses of marquees.
A small selection of some of the many legendary artistes and bands that have performed during the past two years at the Rhythm Festival include: Jerry Lee Lewis | John Mayall & the Blues Breakers | Prince Buster | The Levellers | Alabama 3 | Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel | Joe Bonamassa | Donovan | Dr John | Chas & Dave | Geno Washington | Justin Nozuka | Seth Lakeman | Roger Chapman | Hothouse Flowers | Arlo Guthrie | Paul Jones' The Blues Band and many other great bands.
This will be the third Rhythm festival and with that capacity set at just 5,000 it's going to be very comfortable. A small and friendly event centred around sensational music, great food and good drink, Rhythm Festival is big enough for you to spend the entire weekend having fun and still not have time to do everything you wanted to!
When it comes to music, don’t expect the latest fad or ‘in-thing’, just the best roots, blues, rock, reggae and folk that can be found. There’s live music on three stages, comedy, a solar-powered cinema, digital funfair as well as a real 1950s fairground, kids’ entertainment, organised children’s sports and workshops, a therapy zone and more late night entertainment than you can shake a stick at...should you have a stick you’d want to shake.
A note from the festival organisers - WHY Rhythm Festival?
Rhythm Festival is unique. If you’ve never been before, I think you’re in for a treat. We are not trying to clone Glastonbury, Cropredy, Reading or Isle of Wight, Rhythm Festival is happy just being Rhythm Festival. A small and friendly event centred around sensational music, great food and good drink, Rhythm Festival is big enough for you to spend the entire weekend having fun and still not have time to do everything you wanted to!

Rhythm Festival is supremely lucky to take place at Twinwood Arena, a near-perfect countryside site with the luxury of permanent facilities such as toilets, walkways and trees. And just four miles from Bedford railway station.
Over our first two years, the attendance at Rhythm Festival has doubled and at the UK Festival Awards, we were been nominated for more categories than any other event, regardless of size. Why? Because it’s a festival that cares about the important things: the festival-goers.
Our philosophy is simple: to misquote ‘Withnail & I’, we want the finest entertainers from around the world, we want them in Clapham (Beds) and we want them over the weekend of August 29th-31st.
Rhythm Festival is all about people. Please feel free to join in! you’d be very welcome…
