RhythmTree Festival
16-18th July 2010

The RhythmTree Music Festival (formerly the DidgHeadRadioFestival) grew out of the pioneering vision of Ant and Lin Scott who organised an annual music festival which attracted UK and world didgeridoo players to mainland UK.

The festival was eventually passed to the present promoters and the first DidgHeadRadio festival was held on the Isle of Wight in 2009.
This event was a great success and caused quite a stir on the island which is more familiar with large events like the IOW Festival and Bestival.

Whilst the didgeridoo will remain a central instrument featured at the festival the cost of even a small event like RhythmTree means attracting a wider audience particularly from the Isle of Wight and the mainland world music loving community so this year organisers have decided to add a number of world music bands to the main line-up this year and give the festival the new name of ‘RhythmTree’.

This brings together the ‘Rhythms’ of world music and the Eucalyptus ‘Tree’ from which didgeridoos were originally made. The RhythmTree Festival will remain small in size compared to other events on the island and will concentrate on developing a family friendly safe attraction with lots of music seldom if ever heard at other music festivals around the UK.
