Shambala festival is completely independent from advertising and sponsorship! you won’t find any branded or corporate logos on site; the festival operates completely independently from advertising or sponsorship and has grown through word-of-mouth.

This is a festival attracts people of all ages and ilks, it has a beautifully warm and open atmosphere where you can relax or go loco if you so choose...

Event organisers are recycling almost all waste, investing in compost loos, using solar, wind & biodiesel, and carefully selecting traders and suppliers.

" We love creating the festival, with its connections, creativity, warmth, challenges and suprises. We all have other jobs for income, but devote what time we can to the event. It's not a money-spinner, or an ego booster; perhaps an obsession though!"

Shambala is a participatory event where guests have been fancy dressing since the dawn of time.  Loyal regulars often arrive and stay in character for the duration. The atmosphere benefits from a strong conceptual community spirit that’s similar to America’s famous Burning Man – festival goers convene, contribute and connect, enjoying everything from non-stop cabaret, freestyle gurning competitions, 1930's tea dances, knitting circles and ukulele lessons among other attractions.

Expect to find a concoction of quality music, cabaret, spoken word, workshops, performance arts, intimate and creative venues, site art, and do expect the unexpected!
