The Southwell Folk Festival happens alongside with the annual Gate to Southwell procession of Morris dancers from Nottingham city centre to Southwell Minster.
The actual folk festival will be held on an 8.5 acre site situated right next to the town's historic workhouse where events/exhibitions are staged.
Southwell Folk Festival brings you an extensive programme of street entertainment, appealing to both children and adults alike, acts will be performing throughout the weekend in the town and at the festival site.
There's 3 stages with under cover seating for concerts & ceilidhs, open mic sessions, on-site camping and dance displays. There will be workshops for all ages and a beer & cider festival with over 40 real ales and 10 varieties of cider. You'll also find craft & trade stalls, special children’s entertainment & activities. There's varied food outlets and a covered area for eating.
