Promoters DF Concerts have confirmed that the contemporary music strand of the Edinburgh Festivals formerly known as T on the Fringe will return this August as The Edge.
The festival will once again provide a music marathon of gigs featuring performances from a mix of artists and bands across a plethora of venues including Cabaret Voltaire, the Liquid Room and the Corn Exchange.
“I’m really looking forward to bringing some of the hottest talent from around the globe to a truly international audience once again as part of the Edinburgh festivals.Over the last eight years T on the Fringe became one of the biggest selling events of the festival and one of Scotland’s most popular music festivals and we are confident that this popularity will continue with The Edge. In 2008 there will be no outdoor shows due to the types of artists available this year but we will be putting on more gigs than ever at venues such as the Corn Exchange and Cabaret Voltaire.”

Since 2001, DF Concerts and former partners Tennent’s Lager brought artists as diverse as Kanye West, Razorlight, Nancy Sinatra, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Micheal Franti and the Pixies to T on the Fringe catering for a staggering 130,000 music fans each year.
The line-up and full details for The Edge will be unveiled in June but in the meantime music fans can log on to www.theedgefestival.com to register for regular updates and a chance to get tickets to the hottest shows of the festival as soon as they are announced.
