First track to be lifted from the highly-anticipated second album
Having laid solid foundations with their July 2010 released debut album, ‘All Our Kings Are Dead’, Buckinghamshire rockers Young Guns are back with a brand new single. ‘Learn My Lesson’, is the first track to be lifted from the quintet’s highly-anticipated second album, recorded this summer in Thailand at Karma Sound Studios with producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari). The single is mixed by the renowned Chris Lord Alge (Green Day, Biffy Clyro, Paramore).
“We debated long and hard about which single to pick as the first from the new record,” confesses vocalist Gustav Wood. “It's an album with real texture and variation to it, so making the right choice felt really important. It feels like a bridge between some of our older material and the songs that are on the new album. The song is about embracing the moment and not locking yourself away, and has a defiant attitude that I love."
The video, directed by Tim Fox (Kids In Glass Houses, Skindred), reflects the lyrical nature of the track, whilst taking its visual inspiration from the on-going political rallies in Barcelona, where it's common to see barricade structures built up and adorned with protest slogans.
The band who are scheduled to release their as-yet-untitled second album in February, were announced earlier this week as special guests on Enter Shikari’s UK tour in March 2012.
