Fancy Dress theme teaser - the letter A!
12 weeks or so to go until Beat-Herder - so they've released next wave of performers for this year's festival along with a teaser for the fancy dress theme.
The Beat-Herder is a boutique festival that takes place each June in the heart of Lancashire, today brings the announcement of some more additions to the 2012 bill. Headlining Sunday night will be Belgium’s finest electronic export Aeroplane. Armed with his concoction of French house and Balearic beats, Vito De Luca aka Aeroplane will be the perfect DJ set to close the festival in style.
One of the most talked-about DJs of the moment Fake Blood will also be heading to Ribble Valley along with Austrian DJ/producer Parov Stelar who will be making his only UK festival appearance at The Beat-Herder. With his unmistakable sound-mix of Jazz- and Swing samples and electronic music, Stelar has secured his own unique position in the world of music. They join dance-punk quintet The Whip and house/techno legend Etienne De Crecy who has spearheaded French electronica worldwide since bursting onto the scene in 1997.
London producer and Night Slugs member, Girl Unit will be bringing his dubstep influenced sound to the North, along with hotly tipped drum and bass outfit Rudimental, who will also be heading to Lancashire along with electronic outfit Japanese Popstars. Other additions to the bill include, Krysko, Biggles Wartime Band, Operator 6, Cross Cut Saw, The Banana Sessions, Kitten & The Hip, Slamboree, Yes Sir Boss, Grinny Grandad live, DJ Sneak Beats, Stans Magic Foot, Folkestra, Ivan Campo, The Wonderful Sound of the Cinema Organ, Rumour Has it, Drymbago, Dooks and Kora Fula.
The Rajazzle Tent will also see some healthy additions including Mancunian impersonators The Total Stone Roses – a nod perhaps to the real deal who will be playing in Manchester over the same weekend – Alt Track, Defenders of Style, Bad Transmission and Revenge of the Psychotronic Man.
These acts join the previously announced Orbital, Death In Vegas, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Parov Stelar Live, Fake Blood, Etienne de Crecy, Aeroplane, Mr Scruff & Mc Kwasi, Goldie, Freestylers (DJ set), James Holden, Japanese Popstars (DJ set), The Orb Sound System, Nathan Fake, Girl Unit, Jake Bugg, The Whip, Pariah, King Charles, Rudimental, Ellen & the Escapades, The Beat, Utah Saints, D/R/U/G/S, Pilooski, Barry Ashworth, Lancashire Hotpots, Sicknote, Dogshow, CODA, Shepdog (NICE UP!), Discopolis, Frisky & Mannish, Mooqee, Smerins Anti Social Club, Toni Jarvis, The Drop, The Other Tribe, Undercover Hippy, United Vibrations and Black Lace.
Speculation on the Fancy Dress theme for this year's festival has been rife. Two years ago, the theme was B, last year Beat-Herder went for E, the Fancy Dress theme for 2012 will be brought to you by the letter A.
