Jaguar Skills to get the party started at the Wakestock pre party

Wakestock have added more to this year’s line-up. The latest additions include breakout electro inspired hip-hop duo and viral sensation Chiddy Bang, whose addictive breakthrough hit, the MGMT sampling, “Opposite of Adults” put them on the map in the UK making the indie kids bounce and the pop lovers rave. Their new album Breakfast is sure to expand Chiddy Bang’s fan base and cement their status as one of the most exciting bands of 2012. Listen out for their current single “Ray Charles”.

21 year-old Rita Ora will also hit the stage this year. Thanks to her tremendous vocal ability and fresh take on love and life, this girl is entirely unique. Rita’s debut solo UK single, “R.I.P” is hard hitting introduction to Rita’s upcoming album and was written by Young Money superstar Drake, produced by dubstep lords Chase & Status and powerhouse duo Stargate and also features the Prince of UK hip hop Tinie Tempah, who have all helped to create an explosive hit that is fast making people take note of Rita.

Hadouken! have made a swift return with their brand new single, Mecha Love, a sleek melodic powerhouse and a mouth-watering taster for their third album. The band's second album, 'For The Masses', reached the top 20 in 2010 and Hadouken rightfully earned a reputation as a live act not to be missed. Now in the final stages of recording Hadouken are ready to destroy the UK once more with a devastating new live show set for headline tours and festival appearances in 2012.

Yashin are in the midst of writing album number two after releasing their debut album last year. Yashin were selected by Daniel P Carter's BBC Radio 1 Rock show for Unsigned Song of the week and also Yashin's most recent single 'Stand Up' was featured as video of the week on Kerrang TV. Hailed as one of the UK’s best upcoming live alternative bands.

Joining them are Delta Heavy, a duo who has proven their drum & bass metal worth with a succession of heavy-hitting original tracks. Their next release set to surface at the end of May is ‘Down The Rabbit Hole’, is a 6 track EP of totally original material. Hotly tipped by a host of tastemakers and DJs, Delta Heavy are two guys who won’t be disappearing from your wave lengths any time soon.

After a year when guitars all but vanished from British primetime radio sets, there's a need for a band with the brains, brawn and balls to take 2012 and smash it into a brave new frontier of indie rock 'n' roll. All The Young might just do the job! The last six months or so has seen this small Stoke-on-Trent quartet turn into the potential ‘saviour’ of British rock and roll. With their new single The Horizon out now, 2012 is set to be their year.

Swiss Lips bridge the gap between dance, pop and electro with masses of skill and style. Hailing from Manchester, this five-piece band blast out the kind of music that Wakestock fans will love. Already tipped by the likes of Radio 1 and XXX be sure to see what all the fuss is about. They created a buzz at the end of 2011 with their video for 'U Got The Power' - one of the most exciting new bands of 2012?

Musician Dan Smith has spent the last year writing and recording tracks under the name Bastille. The homemade video for “Flaws” caught the attention of bloggers at the start of 2011. Racking up over 25,000 hits on You Tube. New singles Flaws and Icarus are great examples of Bastille’s ability to produce timeless pop songs with instantly recognisable hooks.

With her emotive 21st Century soul sound Lulu James is making waves across the world. She is a name to remember. With her first EP “Rope Mirage” out on April 30th this girl is set for superstardom and is one to catch.

Joinging her is Jagga who is sure to blow away a few cobwebs in 2012. In the last 18 months he's done everything from touring with Katy B to recording in LA with Odd Future producer Matt Martian. Jagga stands out from a crowd of eager-to-please X Factor pop stars check him this year!

Welsh duo Lilygreen and Maguire are a duo that will make their mark in a very big way in 2012. The friends from Newport, South Wales, have just released their debut single ‘Come On Get Higher’. The pair have already built up a solid fan-base after supporting X-Factor runner-up Olly Murs in his recent arena tour of the UK and Ireland and will be popular with the crowds.

Jaguar Skills, Jigsaw, Plastic Thumbs and guests will be getting the party started this year. Nitro are hosting the Thursday night pre-party with DJ’s Jaguar Skills, Nitro resident Jigsaw and Plastic Thumbs, who will be getting the party started for the campers at this year’s festival.

Wakestock pre party takes place on Thursday 5th July, this year sees the festival team up with Midlands based club night Nitro. Nitro began life in 2002, and recently celebrated their 10th anniversary. Their parties started in a tiny venue, and have evolved in to massive concert events attracting over 6000 people per year at their 4 times a year parties. 

To get access to the Wakestock pre party you need to have a weekend camping, single day camping or vip weekend camping ticket for the festival, and purchase a Thursday night arena pass for £10. The line up so far includes the original ninja Jaguar Skills and the party starts from 6pm.
