Show Of Hands celebrate their 20th anniversary

2012 is a milestone year in the UK in many ways. One of Devon’s greatest success stories, folk icons Show Of Hands, mark a career milestone this year, their 20th anniversary, including a headline date at Sidmouth FolkWeek - the annual celebration of music, arts and dance which takes place in the stunning seaside resort running from 3rd 10th August 2012.

Triple BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards winners, the dazzling duo of singer songwriter Steve Knightley and multi-instrumentalist Phil Beer have forged one of the most successful ever partnerships in acoustic roots music, already scoring three sell-out shows at the world famous Royal Albert Hall in London.

In addition to these popular ambassadors for folk music, other festival headline news includes appearances from local hero singer/songwriter Seth Lakeman; the storming 2012 multi-BBC Folk Awards winners June Tabor & Oysterband and legendary guitar maestro Martin Simpson who featured recently on Sky Arts’ First Love, mentoring actor/comedian Stephen Mangan in his challenge to play guitar live on stage with Richard Thompson.
