Lounge on the Farm still waiting to hear whether the licence will be granted
Lounge on the Farm intends to return to Canterbury in Kent this year. Following a move by Police to have the event licence revoked after last years event organisers claim to have been working with Canterbury Council and the Local Police to obtain the new event licence for 2012. Organisers have submitted the 2012 Event Management Plan and expect to hear back from the relevant parties in March.
In anticipation of being granted the licence organisers have made the first line up announcement. Among the first acts for Lounge on the Farm 2012 will be the Mystery Jets, British hip hop pioneer Roots Manuva, lively Liverpudlian trio The Wombats and rising star Emeli Sandé.
Drum and Bass legend Goldie represents one of the first acts from the dance contingent and will bring bass heavy beats to the farm along with reggae obsessive David Rodigan, who was recently given an MBE for his contribution to the genre over the years. Legendary disco outfit Chic - whose discography spans four decades and includes such disco classics as ‘Everybody Dance’ and ‘Le Freak’ – complete the announcement.
Early Bird Tickets now available for 2 weeks at £110, full priced tickets will be available at £115 after the 2 week period. Might be worth hanging fire until the licence issue is resolved.
