Peter Doherty pulls out of T in the Park

Another spell in rehab for Peter

Peter Doherty will not be performing at T in the Park this year. Peter’s team have issued the following message:

"Peter is terribly upset not to be able to make this year's T in the Park as it is always a great experience and one of his favourite events on the festival circuit. The decision that he couldn't do it was not one taken lightly but the important reasons preventing his attendance this year are clear. Peter has entered a facility to deal with pressing medical issues. We hope you wish him well on this major step he has taken and wish T in the Park as successful an event as ever."

Peter has been to rehab numerous times, checking into a clinic in Thailand in 2003, rehab in north London's Southgate area in 2006 and Clouds House rehab in Wiltshire in 2007. This time he's jetted off to Thailand in another attempt to break his addiction to heroin and crack cocaine.

Breaking any addiction is hard and for some almost impossible, to have to do it in the public eye must make it even more difficult. It can be done and we hope this facility will be the one that makes the difference this time. We wish Peter all the luck in the world with his latest attempt and hope to see him back on stage wowing us with his poetic words and music - quite a unique talent and one we don't want to lose.
