Roots Manuva, Ed Rush & Optical, Shackleton, Todla T ft DRS head to Shambala Festival

Shambala Festival have announced the first acts for 2012. The event will feature performances from acclaimed dub / hip-hop artist Roots Manuva, with Ed Rush & Optical, Shackleton, Todla T ft DRS, and legendary folk songwriter Billy Bragg. They join diverse acts from across the globe at this free-thinking event.
Set across four days on the August Bank Holiday Weekend there will be over 200 diverse musical acts across 12 live stages, world-class cabaret, over 200 programmed workshops, stand-up comedy, inspirational talks and debates, jaw dropping circus and acrobatics, interactive theater and nationally acclaimed poetry all housed in beautifully decorated venues.
Join the Shamabala Fancy Dress Carnival, discover surreal art installations, beautiful soundscapes, live theater and huge scale AV installations through the night. Join in the Shambolympics and celebrate this year’s theme… Celebration, while over the bridges find healers waiting to massage and pamper fun-fatigued limbs. You can lounge around in hot tubs sipping cocktails or swim in the lake amongst giant lotus flowers, or you can or visit one of the six bespoke bars on site, offering over 50 local ales, not to mention some of the finest cuisine from around the world. Dance in a Caribbean disco hotspot, visit The Wonky Cock and try your hand at Blingo, or find the new Debating Chamber.
Don’t miss the legendary grand finale with the infamous Pirate Technics, be prepared for large-scale fire shows, performance and fireworks set against a stunning backdrop of tree-lined lakes.
