Boutique Kent festival Lounge on the Farm have announced their new additions to the 2012 line-up, including pioneering British electronic musician Matthew Herbert who will be playing with his big band, BBC Sound Poll nominee and blues singer/songwriter Jamie N Commons, psychedelic folk-pop artist King Charles, heavy weight hip hop fanatic DJ Format, dub connoisseur Congo Natty and Hospital Records stalwart Netsky.
Communion will be hosting their own stage, the Farm Folk Stage this year. Playing a pivotal role as one of the key driving forces behind the nu-folk scene, Communion are the perfect curators for this year’s festival and will be inviting artists as diverse as Fionn Regan, Fink, Matthew and the Atlas and Rae Morris to join them.
In addition to the new music acts Lounge On The Farm will bring a plethora of talent from the theatre and spoken word pursuits, including the ‘delicious denizens of the demi-monde’ and interactive cabaret-theatre collective Boom Boom Club, Fitzrovia Radio Hour and the award winning stand-up magician Piff the Magic Dragon with his notorious yet blend of dry wit and humour. There will also be cutting-edge comedy and political commentary from Andrew Maxwell, spoken word from Phil Kay and iconic London venue Roundhouse Camden proudly presents associate collectives ‘Rubix and Elephant’.
Additionally, there will be fun for all the family with the roller disco and tea dance and entertainment from Shakespeare’s Comedy along with plenty of other outdoor activities.
Lounge on the Farm is also presenting the Little Lounge & Playhouse for Kids featuring a host of activities to entertain the little ones including the Zingzillas, Gramophone Theatre presents ‘Wild Duck’ and Lekkido Lord of the Lobsters. There will also be a unique interactive panto of Seven Dwarfs hosted by The Science Museum for all the family to enjoy.
