Benjamin Francis Leftwich releases a new EP, ‘In The Open’ on November 19th, and is set to tour the UK and USA for the remainder of 2012. ‘In The Open’ features Ben’s ethereal vocals gliding over a wistful lament which proves that Ben was not just one of the most compelling new artists of last year, but is an enduring songwriting force. There is a haunting beauty to his vocal that is unmistakable and uniquely his own, many can sing, few have a voice - latter is true for Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
‘A Million Miles Out’ EP - his debut release captured our attention with the natural beauty of his vocal and the distinctive quality of his songwriting which echoed some of the greats of the last 60 years - Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Elliot Smith. ‘A Million Miles Out’ was followed by the breathtakingly beautiful ‘Pictures’ EP which saw Leftwich reach daytime UK radio with the most fragile and pure of songs, a quiet revolution indeed. July 2011 marked the release of Leftwich’s debut full length album ‘Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm’. These songs stole our hearts and revealed a new rising hope for the great tradition of British songwriting talent. Fast forward two years and Benjamin Francis Leftwich has toured the world, had Top 40 albums both sides of the Atlantic, and is still driven by his pursuit of the perfect song.
Ben has spent the Summer touring the world including the US, Canada and Australia as well as playing a string of festival dates including Green Man, T In The Park, Hop Farm and Reading and Leeds Festivals. This year’s iTunes Festival also saw Ben invited back for a second time as he supported Lana Del Rey. This Autumn Ben embarks on an extensive 32-date nationwide tour throughout October including Newcastle, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester as well as his largest show to date at London’s Koko on October 24th.
