One Direction fans let down by fake and invalid tickets sold through Viagogo, Seatwave and Getmein

Eighty people turned up to the first night of the One Direction gigs at the O2 Arena to find nothing but disappointment

Just as night follows day, whenever there are young screaming fans for the next "big thing" there will always be touts and fraudsters going out of their way to exploit them. So it was almost an inevitability that tickets for One Direction's tour would be a target.

Last night (23rd February 2013) eighty people arrived excited at the O2 Arena to see their idols only to find out that the tickets that they were holding were not going to let them in. Of the 80 tickets, 40 were sold through Viagogo, the next biggest source was Seatwave and the rest were bought through Getmein and eBay.

The worst frauds were sold to German fans who bought high priced "Meet and Greet" packages only to find out that there are no tickets of this type for One Direction, it was a cynical way to extort the most money from them. One family spent £940 on tickets plus all their travel from Germany to the UK to find out that they had been taken for a very expensive ride.

There are no VIP tickets or Meet and Greet Packages available at the O2 Arena for One Direction. We expect more disappointed fans tonight (Sunday 24th Feb).

No amount of "your tickets are guaranteed" from the so called "fan to fan" sites will compensate for the loss that these actual fans were put through. A ticket guarantee will only cover your ticket cost, not your travel or expenses or the hurt you will suffer from listening from the car park to the band you paid good money to see.

Only buy your tickets from reputable, primary outlets, as listed in our Be Ticket Safe® Directory green list.
