Toots and the Maytals pull out of WOMAD

Medical issues force the cancellation

The inimitable Toots and the Maytals have been forced to withdraw from their performance at this year’s WOMAD due to a head injury sustained by frontman Toots Hibbert at the River Rock Festival last month. As Toots is still undergoing treatment his doctors advised that he cancel all his summer UK tour dates. WOMAD will be announcing an exciting new addition to the line up soon.
Toots management released this message for all his fans:
"This regrettable decision was made by the medical team realizing that any performances at this time could seriously compromise Toots' health. Toots thanks all of his fans worldwide who have expressed their concern and sent their messages and prayers in emails and postings on facebook. Toots' health is the priority and therefore while the cancellation is regrettable, we trust you understand it."
