One for the teenagers at Camp Bestival

Plus lots of happenings in Dingly Dell

The 10th Camp Bestival Birthday bash draws ever closer and the crew get set to deliver more Pop Stars & Rock Stars joy with round the clock entertainment for all ages. Whether you’re a Camp veteran or a CB first-timer there’s plenty to dazzle and delight one and all, including teen-only freedom in The Den and magical woodland-based adventures in the Dingly Dell. 

The teens of Camp Bestival will be kicking back in their own unique space, as The Den returns for its fourth summer.  After a smashing first few outings the content has been mixed up even more this year and have whole host of teen-focused fun is on hand to keep you away from the clutches of boring parents!

Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club will be presenting Ronnie Scott’s Big Band in a Day. Tutors from the iconic music club will be helping super-talented musical kids to form a Jazz Big Band who will get to play to the masses on the Castle Stage! If you’re a budding teen musician and would like to be involved in the big band you can sign up here. 

Don’t miss Tie Dye Mayhem with Lizzie, East London's coolest craft-chick who will be on hand to customize your trainers with fun tie-dyed shoe laces. There will be meet & greet with twin pop sensations Max & Harvey Mills,  Marawa’s Majorettes will host a session on Marawa’s awesome new book about the trials and tribulations of teenage life: The Girl Guide. Pass the sequins and join in the Crafternoons with DIY Festival Fashion workshops so that you can get your headwear on point for the weekend. Hone your festival fashion skills with Glitter & Braiding Workshops with Dust & Dance; learn how to sprinkle your sparkles with the real glitter experts.

Sunday afternoon hilarity will ensue with the annual teen quiz, Let’s Get Quiz-ical! Hosted by super fun poet Mark Grist, there are silly prizes galore to be won so don’t miss out. More of Marawa’s Majorettes will happen - this time with Hoola Madness Workshops. And if all of that wasn’t enough there's an awesome new Games Tent with Big Potato. Plus, there will be life size versions of the games with Outdoor Games in the Den Garden, including the ridiculously fun Ping Pong Thunderdome! 

SRob da Bank’s Music Club returns with some epic new workshops exclusively for 13-17’s! And this year you can get political & vocal by writing a protest song or rap then perform it on one of the stages. There will also be a Q&A from the main man himself Rob da Bank.

With the teens taken care of, the rest of the family can enjoy a whole woodland-based world of wonder that awaits in the Dingly Dell. One of Camp Bestival’s most popular areas, this year there’s a whole host of interactive action to get stuck into including games, riddles & songs from the ATE Trust. They will also have dragonfly and dreamcatcher making workshops, Dangerous Demos and Extreme Evening Escapades!  Plus, Shadow Puppet Theatre on Friday & Saturday and Willow Lantern-lit Procession, Bedtime Story and Hot Chocolate on Sunday.

There will be live storytelling sessions of David Litchfield’s beautifully illustrated winner of 2016’s Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, The Bear and the Piano with craft and musical workshops and more based on the beautiful book and its magical tales. Imagination is the limit at longstanding fave Lizzie’s Way. Don’t miss the chance to play, laugh and experiment in mud kitchens, story nooks, puppet theatres and fabulously crafty bespoke outdoor activities.

Longdown Festival Farm are back giving you the chance to hold a baby chick, stroke a rabbit, or feed a guinea pig and enjoy some proper hands on farmyard experience with help from lovely farmer, Ian. The Wild Treeclimbing & Outdoor Zipline will give adventurous little ones the chance to get harnessed up to climb one of the majestic old trees and zoom down the brand new zipline. Crafty Corner will add even more craft into the Dingly Dell with a fab opportunity to get those green fingers even dirtier and to make some awesome keepsakes. And there's some amazing Den Building with a team of experts from Woodland Tribe helping to design and build a fantastic Den for the Dingly Dell.
