More acts for Blissfields 'Bizarre' Festival

Shura, Moses Sumney and more confirmed

The final fairy lights are being strung to the wall of Blissfields 2017: “The Bizarre” programme, with the addition of Shura, Moses Sumney, activities in the Home Of The Unknown inc. Taste Of The Fringe ft Mark Dolan, and Thom Foole’s House Party ft Tony Law. They join Metronomy, The Cinematic Orchestra, Lady Leshurr, Sundara Karma and DJ Yoda. Also confirmed for 2017: real, properly-lit toilets across the entire festival, no booking fees on tickets, a freaky funfair, free hot air balloon rides, and soooo much more.

Fresh arrivals into “The Bizarre” now include electropop singer and producer Shura, marked by Pitchfork as being at “the vanguard of a scene of young queer pop stars who are updating the ’80s model of self-sufficient, fully liberated mainstream pop.”

East London’s stylish guitar pop outfit Pumarosa also make their debut, as does Tom Grennan – who just featured as lead vocalist on Chase & Status’‘All Goes Wrong’ track.

The Japanese House who took the #4 spot on NME’s essential new music for 2017 poll, comparing her hugely melodic sound to “Tame Impala’s chilled moments crossed with Jamie xx’s magical rhythms” rounds off the new breed line-up for this year.

The Home Of The Unknown has dropped some of its 2017 programme already listing Music Bingo, Dance Of The Dead, and a UV Paint Fight, now adding Channel 4 presenter Mark Dolan with A Taste Of The Fringe and Thom Foole’s House Party ft surreal comic Tony Law.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £100 for an adult weekend ticket, with no booking fee.

In July 2017 the very fabric of your perception is warping beneath Vicarage Farm as Blissfields breaks on through to the under side. What will we find together, exploring both the very real and the very unreal of the bizarre? A tunnel through the fantastic, via fantasy and freakshow, will see the festival celebrate and fearfully poke the unknown. Blissfields will be the gateway into new frontiers where only the unexpected can be assumed.

All manner of creatures from this realm will mingle with ambassadors and accidental travellers from the infinitum. Will you seize the day and represent the living curiosities of this offbeat world, or come clean, shed your mortal disguise and party along as the unique creature you are inside.
Blissfields is once again creating a playground from the imagination for you to discover across the intimate tree - lined site. With brand new art installations planned to bring the bizarre to life, the corner of English countryside will be a vibrant backdrop to one of the biggest celebrations of... odd.

Get your tinfoil hat on, say its name three times, pile the televisions from floor to ceiling, and play nothing but David Lynch in reverse. The Twilight Zone is coming to Hampshire...

Blissfields will take place on the 6th to the 8th July 2017 at Vicarage Farm, Woodmancott, Winchester, Hampshire
