The Horror's added to Rockaway Beach

Wild Beasts to perform their final ever festival performance

Returning for it’s third voyage, the independent, intimate (4,000 cap) alternative event is once again landing at Butlins Bognor Regis this coming January with new additions on board. As well as hosting the final festival performance from Wild Beasts, RB now welcomes The Horrors who will join Alabama 3, Peter Hook & The Light, British Sea Power, Gang Of Four, Pulled Apart By Horses, The Orb, Steve Lamacq DJ, Tim Burgess DJ and more.

This September The Horrors released V, their third consecutive top-10 album, garnering 5-star reviews from Guardian, 9/10 from Clash and Line Of Best Fit, and dubbed by The Quietus as “a rock rave goth electro noise bath with drums, bass, keyboards, guitar and bright white light.”

With more live music still to announce, alongside a full film and TV programme, pub quizzes, hidden vinyl treasure hunts, and curated DJ sets, the show is set to kickstart 2018 with a bang for alternative music fans.

The weekend aims to position artists alongside its audience with intimate venue spaces, interactive Q&As, on-site competitions, and in-room sessions set in the seaside Butlins arena which features bowling lanes, pool tables, arcade games, numerous restaurants, bars and a swimming pool.

With Wild Beasts, The Horrors, and British Sea Power, this year’s line-up boasts three Mercury Prize nominees - four including Peter Hook who as a member of New Order, and of course Joy Division, has also clocked up numerous top-10 albums as an influential part of modern music’s backstory. In terms of pioneers, RB is also pleased to welcome Gang Of Four whose seminal 1979 album Entertainment has been acclaimed the 8th best record of the 1970’s by Pitchfork and the 5th greatest punk album of all time by Rolling Stone. Dipping into his record bag, the most revolutionary indie DJ for a generation Steve Lamacq will be hosting a set of floor-fillers, joining The Charlatans’ equally as formative Tim Burgess on the festival’s late night programme.

Tickets are on sale now as part of accomodation bundles starting at £79 pp for three nights room and music, available here  - with a 10% discount offered using the promocode RB10.

Rockaway Beach will take place on January 12th, 13th & 14th 2018 at Butlins in Bognor Regis.
