Mark Ronson finished off a cracking first day at the first ever Zoo Thousand festival with a headline set worthy of any festival. The crowd was thrilled by the Version Players and guest appearances from Candie Payne, Daniel Merriweather and Kenna - there wasn't a static body to be seen faced with such musicality. We even got a special performance from the Rumble Strips who recounted their version of the now classic "Back to Black".
Despite the cancellation by Dizzee Rascal that seemed to aggrevate the crowd, Lethal Bizzle stepped up to take the slot on the main stage - though there were doubts that he would play with the crowd's less than friendly reaction to the rescheduling. Face was kept, and Mr Bizzle proved himself worthy of the billing.
With other performances from Little Man Tate, Delays, The Rumble Strips, Metronomy, Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip, Nick Harrison and Marner Brown it was a great first day.
More news from the other stages and Saturday and Sunday's perfomances will be posted later, but it seems like Zoo Thousand are pulling it off, perhaps even being guilty of having too much choice for the crowd, which is never a bad thing.
