Good. less crowded than usual as the 3rd tier was shut and the 2nd tier was only partially full. Great to see real music lovers at the gig

For the first time in many shows, it lacked atmosphere. The last time I experienced that at this venue was 25 or so shows ago when I saw Natalie Imbuglia in 2005. You can't blame the venue. The crowd was strange which may have also contributed to Little Boot's lacklustre start.

Having been to this venue so many times over the past 6 years , I never thought I would have to write a crtical word and it saddens me to do so.
However, it seems to me that when O2 took over the venue, standards have started to slip. On this visit there were people standing in aisles for a long time before any came to deal with them. A couple of beers were tipped over the edge of level onto the people below in Level 1. One woman got her coat completely soaked. This comes on top of a recent previous visit to the venue to see The Noisettes, where my wife's seat collasped and the management came across as non-chalant. So you can imagine how impressed I am. WHAT'S GOING ON SHEPHERDS BUSH? You need to get a grip.

For the ground floor and being as far towards the front as I was - quiet nice. It was not full so had some space to move around. Shepherds Bush like any venue can hell when you're standing all packed together like sardines but on this occassion if was fine.

Shepherds Bush Empire
It is a great historic venue and any seat has a good view of the stage.
However, the sound is another matter. I was seated at the top of level 3 and could not hear Joe Satriani at all in the first song and very little throughout the rest of the set. TOO MUCH DRUM & BASS, it just boomed up there. The speaking vocals were in the main incoherent up there too.
It was such a shame, the gig was great but we all went there to hear each individuals contribution and they gave it to us 100% only to be let down by the sound system.
Would I go again to the same place... absolutely YES, but I would hope to get better tickets and cross my fingers for better sound.
( The support act sounded great by the way )
