Where you are sat has a drastic impact on whether you're going to enjoy the show or not. If you're at the back, high up, you're so far back you're halfway home again; even in the sides high up it's not great. It's a lot better if you're in the middle blocks in the lower tier but too far forward and you're watching at a 90 degree angle or worse, at some shows they sell seats that are actually BEHIND the stage!
The other problem here is how steep those tiers are in this place; it's built into the ground and descending those steps (especially if it's dark while the support is on) without any sort of rail to help you is downright dangerous. Like many other arenas now, they also make you queue up at the entrance to the floor while they put a wristband on you, which causes crowding and is not great for anyone sat in the seats near where this happens. Once on the floor, be sure to wear thick socks because it's an ice-hockey stadium and the cold DOES get through to your feet after a while. When the show is over getting out is a pain, you have to go back up those very steep steps onto the concourse and it gets really crowded, as only two sets of steps are open at the back for those who were on the floor. I've had good times here and not so good, and it is invariably down to where I was.

Wasn't loud enough and the screen was far too small. Not a patch on War Of The Worlds which I saw last year.

Excellent - the video screens at the back of the stage could have been bigger for us at the back though!

On Tuesday 27th October I went to see Fleetwood Mac at the MEN arena, my friend had arranged the tickets so i was unaware of any drinks ban. I had taken a bottle of water with me because I need to take painkillers regularly, this was taken from me on arrival as "i might lob it" though why I would be tempted to lob this bottle of water and not the identical one I was able to purchase in the arena was not clear. when I purchased my water from the Arena bar the lid was removed, as a disabled person i find it difficult to walk without a stick and on stairs i need to use a hand rail and my stick, which makes carrying an open bottle very difficult. I mentioned this to the staff who seemed unable or unwilling to take into account the needs arising from my disability. Have you taken the DDA into account when formulating your policies?
Thankfully the concert was excellent!
