The sound in Sheffield City Hall is appalling - the concert I went to was spoilt completely because of an extremely loud function in the room below the main auditorium. After speaking to staff at the venue I understand this is an ongoing problem. Why hasn't such a prestigious venue invested in sound proofing between performance areas?

Sound was poor. Good view, plenty of room in large seats.

Shefield City Hall is an excellent asset to Sheffield, the accoustics in the hall are brilliant, the staff are friendly and helpful.

Sheffield City Hall seem to be in the business of actively discouraging you from attending their venue. I went to the box office in person and asked for tickets for a gig two months ahead and was told (by the worst mannered clerk I''ve ever encountered) it was sold out. When I asked how long they''d been on sale the clerk said I "could try Ticketmaster. They''ve got lots". So it appears that City Hall pass their tickets to an agency and employ clerks to put people off. Go somewhere else.
